POORNA
ANNAPURNA - WORKSHOPS FOR THE COMPLETE WOMAN
The Stadel ‘Poorna Annapurna’, workshops for the complete woman, was
launched on 9th April with the “EFG (Efficient, food fashioning and
Gourmandizing) of cooking” workshop, inaugurated by celebrated
danseuse Tanushree Shankar. The highlight of the workshop was a
demonstration of Italian cooking by our Master Chef, Narayan
Chatterjee .
Subsequent Poorna Annapurna workshops have focused on different
themes and genres of cooking. With each class it has raised itself
to a new level of expertise such that Poorna Annapurna now has gone
beyond the walls of The Stadel. Mrs. Rita Bhimani, one of the
pioneers of Public Relations in Kolkata is a driving force behind
these workshops. She is the Chairperson of these workshops.
Poorna Annapurna workshops have included ‘Mocktail Magic” by
celebrated Beverage Guru Irfan Ahmed , D’ziner desserts by our
Master Chef Narayan Chatterjee and a Raksha Bandhan Special
workshop, World Cuisine, which was a demonstration of Mexican ,
Lebanese and continental dishes and also had a special segment on
Rakhi Tray decoration.
The popularity of the workshops prompted the prestigious Calcutta
Club to invite us to hold a Poorna Annapurna workshop for them on
the club premises. Our September workshop, The Perfect Tea Party,
was thus held at the Calcutta Club, the first time in the club’s
long history that anyone from outside conducted a workshop there.
Children add the perfect touch of completeness to a woman’s life, so
on the occasion of Children’s Day, we organized a Poorna Annapurna
workshop for kids. The kid’s workshop was a creative cooking
workshop where the main flavour of the day was fun. We aimed to make
it a never before workshop, a fusion of cooking and creativity where
every dish had a tale to tell and every tale had a twist as well .
We had also organized a series of three workshops at the prestigious
Smt. J.D. Birla Institute. The workshops ranged from demonstrations
of napkin folding, flower arrangement to make up.
